The Flower Shop: Winter in Fairbrook

 Natalie has barely survived her first semester in college, and all she wants is a break. However, her parents insist that she start acting like a responsible adult and get a job during her school's winter break. In no time at all, Natalie's roommate sets her up with a job, and she's shipped off to the town of Fairbrook for a mundane job in a flower shop.

So I decided to try out this game by Winter Wolves, I'm usually not fond of stat rising games but I gotta admit I love Beatriz art <3 AND it's always nice to play an English-written game, an original game. I REALLY liked RE: Alistar and was liking Always remember me (until I lost all I had in my hdd... ¬¬u), so, why not? :)



 Natalie starts off as a rather lazy girl, she even oversleeps on her first WORKING days o.O lol However, as the plot starts to move along she starts to change and ends up loving her work, Fairbrook, and the people she has come to met and get along with :D

This is a stat rising game, and ALSO a flower-farming game. Natalie has got to take care of the field where she is to plant flowers, and of course take care of the flowers too. You start up with $50, which you use to buy flower seeds at the general store. You cannot spend money on other stuff besides seeds and compost, so there's no way you can use it all up and have nothing heh xD Flowers need watering and also cleaning up when they have parasites, so that's basically what you do when you are working.

You HAVE to work, wether you like it or not, that's the reason why Natalie's there, and the stamina goes down EVEN if you pick the option "stop working" so why bother? Better work hard and gain a lot of money to plant more flowers buahahaha ;D

I'm a BIG Harvest Moon fan, so I got really excited and pumped up and didn't even think about not working (I even picked "work more" in my agenda xD) so I was surprised some people weren't working and got confused about how to get money (seriously?). Also, for me it was obvious that if you have a stat that says STAMINA is because that stat will GO DOWN when you work and it got even MORE obvious when I saw the option of "RESTING" in the week planner (with a nice bed drawn in it xD). Maybe I just have too much experience playing other games, and found it almost hillarious how some people got stuck because they had like very little stamina and didn't even THINK about RESTING (how come?).


If you want to play this game here is some stuff you have to know, and some tips by me:

• As I said, you have to work, so earn as much as possible as you can from the work you're forced to do. Unless you're aiming for the "normal endings", try to always spend all your money and plant and harvest as much flowers as possible, at least until there is like a week left (then you may do w/e you want, as long as you've earned more than $400 you're safe).
• In this game you get to plan what you'll do in the whole week. It's not like other games, where you pick or decide what do in the spot. Nope. So plan your week wisely. How? Keep reading.
• Never, NEVER pick "work more" is a waste of time, you won't need it.
• ALWAYS rest (at least) one day per week, unless for some reason starting that week you have 100 stamina.
• I recommend visiting the general store once each week (or maybe even 2 weeks when you have too many seeds), this is so you can get to buy new seeds.
• The other stats (intelligence, culture, emphaty, dtermination) rise when you spend time with the boys, each one has its own. If you don't get to spend time with them even if you went to see them it doesn't count and the stat doesn't rise. I wont's say who raises what, it should be fun finding out, and you can also find out at the official game site forums.
• Try to get the secondary stat at MORE than 70, otherwise you may not get the character ending but the "alone" ending.
• Have fun (and enjoy the chibi love)!
